今天公众号“高斋CATTI”给大家分享下“文化底蕴”和“载体”在报告中的翻译。刚好CATTI三笔真题中也有考过这个知识点。

“文化底蕴”

1. 如果指一个国家的“文化底蕴”，直接用rich culture，经常和history连用，如报告中这句：

秘鲁人民勤劳勇敢，历史文化底蕴深厚。Peru is also known for its hard-working and courageous people, who created a time-honored history and rich culture.

2. 如果指一个地方有深厚的历史文化底蕴，就用rich cultural heritage，如报告中这句：

我们来这里感受这所大学悠久的历史传承和厚重的文化底蕴。We are here to appreciate the University's time-honoured history and rich cultural heritage.

还比如听说你喜欢一字不落地都翻译出来！看看省译法 | CATTI和MTI翻硕中这句：

河南拥有厚重的文化历史，大量的历史文物，文物数量居全国首位。The province has rich cultural heritage, with the largest number of historical relics in China.

3. 如果提到某物拥有文化底蕴，就可以with rich cultural connotations，如报告中这句：

建设一批富有文化底蕴的世界级旅游景区和度假区，打造一批文化特色鲜明的国家级旅游休闲城市和街区。We will build world-class tourist attractions and resorts with rich cultural connotations as well as national tourism and leisure cities and blocks with distinctive cultural characteristics.

4. 如果是某物体现出深厚文化底蕴，就用sth embodies profound culture，如报告中这句：

希望大家在学习汉语过程中，细细品味汉语的深厚文化底蕴。So it is my hope that when you are learning the Chinese language, you will appreciate the profound culture that it embodies.

“载体”

1. “载体”在报告中常见翻译为vehicle。这个单词我们常见的意思是车辆、交通工具，比如电动汽车EV (electric vehicle)。

我们看一些表示“载体”意思的例句吧，此时后面接介词of或for，如报告中这句：

语言文字是人类文明的重要载体，也是各国各民族沟通交流的桥梁。Language is a vehicle of civilisation. It is also a bridge of communication between countries and nations.

金融时报提到直播的时候也用到了这个单词：Alibaba’s livestreaming push comes as companies look increasingly to video as a vehicle for ecommerce. 阿里巴巴推动直播购物之际，企业正越来越多地把视频作为电子商务的载体。（例句中Look to sth as表把……视作……）

2. “载体”还可以用carrier，如报告中这句：语言文字是文化的重要载体和鲜明标志。Language, in both spoken and written forms, is an important carrier and a distinct symbol of culture.

3. 如果提到人是“载体”，就可以用bridge，如报告中这句：人是文明交流互鉴最好的载体。People are the best bridge for exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations.
