最近我们19年高斋CATTI和MTI翻译全年班火热进行中了，大家都在积极提交作业，讨论交流答疑，认真看讲解。

在全年班每天的翻译练习中，with总会与学员相遇，一会是这个意思，一会又是那个意思，变化多端，英语的用词精妙让大家惊叹不已，同时with的翻译也让大家深深体会到了汉语的博大精深。下面就对课程里面遇到的with大概做个总结。

在我们的脑海中，With可以表示“随着，和，跟”，也可以这样用“She came in, with a book in her hand. 她进来了，手里拿着书”。结果这里的with也可以省去，这样写也是可以的“A girl came in, book in hand”. 有没有with竟然决定了a和her的命运——加还是不加冠词a和her。

With表示“用”的意思也是很常见的，A staff dormitory just beyond its gates is empty, its entrance sealed with barbed wire. 距离厂门仅一步之遥的员工宿舍已是人去楼空，带刺铁丝网封住了入口。

如果想说“对谁热情”，居然也可以使用with：“他如今对她很是热情，三个月前还很冷淡呢。He is becoming amazingly passionate with her, compared with the tepid norm of three months ago. ”

这句话中with翻译成了“写着”，以后就不要只会用write啦！

Wang Xing, head of Meituan Dianping, a company known for its food-delivery app, captured the gloom last month with this line on his micro-blog: “2019 might be the worst year of the past decade, but it might also be the best year of the coming decade.”

知名外卖平台美团点评的CEO王兴上个月在微博上写道：“2019年可能会是过去十年里最差的一年，但却是未来十年里最好的一年”。悲观情绪可见一斑。

CATTI实务真题里with的高频翻译是“写着”、“配有”：比如三笔真题2015年5月CATTI三级笔译实务里面就有一个：

Above the road that winds toward the mines, a soot-smudged miner peers out from a billboard with the slogan “Coal = Jobs.” 

在通向矿场的蜿蜒道路上，可以看到一个广告牌，上面的矿工满身煤污，凝视着远方，旁边写着 “煤炭=工作”的标语。

真题里面with 翻译为了”写着……标语“，而这里的with a picture of，一般翻译为配有一张……图片。

还比如全年班这周外刊精读与翻译讲解里面的这句：Hami is looking for auxiliary police. “Join us to realise your dreams”, says the poster, with a picture of officers brandishing machine guns. 哈密正在招聘辅警，海报上写着“加入我们，实现梦想”，并配有一张警官手持机关枪的图片。

看到了没！With原本是个静态的介词，却翻译成了动态的动词，把with“介词动化”，让静态介词动起来啦！

With的含义有很多，其译法也千变万化，我们需要先弄明白它在句中的基础含义，然后根据具体语境以及汉语的语言习惯进行适当调整，平时遇到的时候可以尝试用课上学到的翻译思维进行翻译。

无论是汉译英还是英译汉，固定搭配会让译文更地道，更准确。

These symptoms are associated with migraine headaches.

这些症状与偏头痛相关。

I got acquainted with him only recently. 

我和他是新交。

She blushed with embarrassment.

她难为情得脸红了。

Don't rest content with past achievements.

不要躺在过去的成绩上睡大觉。
