This year’s World Food Day celebrates one of the planet’s most precious resources: water.
今年的“世界粮食日”提醒我吗关注地球上最为珍贵的资源：水。
Water is essential to life and livelihood, by reducing hunger and poverty and achieving all SDGs. The climate crisis, population growth, urbanization, industrialization and social-economic development are putting increasing pressure on water resources.
水资源有助于减少饥饿和贫困，促进实现各项可持续发展目标，对生命和生计至关重要。然而，气候危机、人口增长、城市化、工业化和社会经济发展令水资源日益承受重压。
Increased extreme weather events, drought and flooding are stressing our ecosystems, with daunting consequences on global food security.
越发频繁的极端天气事件、干旱和洪水灾害危及生态系统，给全球粮食安全带来可怕后果。
Today, more than one-third of the world’s population are still living without access to safe water. Smallholder farmers, particularly women, youth, indigenous Peoples, migrants, and refugees, are the most vulnerable.
时至今日，超过三分之一的世界人口仍然无法获得安全用水。小农，尤其是女性和青年农民，土著人民、移民和难民，是在用水问题上最弱势的群体。
We must harness the power of science, innovation, data and technology to produce more with less. To make every job count, all of us must consume and manage water more efficiently.
我们必须充分发挥科学、创新、数据和技术的力量，在提高农业产量的同时减少用水消耗。为了让每一滴水都物尽其用，所有人都必须更为高效地使用和管理水资源。
Agriculture is the largest consumer of the world’s freshwater resources, accounting for 70% of consumption. We must transform global agrifood systems to be more efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable, to effectively address the water scarcity challenge we are facing.
农业是世界淡水资源的第一消费大户，占全世界淡水取用量的70%。我们必须推动全球农业粮食体系转型，使之更高效、更包容、更有韧性、更可持续，有效应对水资源短缺带来的挑战。
Dear friends,
各位朋友，
Water scarcity is a global challenge that needs a global response. Flooding is the disaster that takes a few minutes to wash away everything. Water pollution is making the situation worse.
缺水是一项全球难题，需要各方携手并举、共同应对。滔天洪水瞬间就能造成灭顶之灾。水污染更让形势变得愈发严峻。
On this World Food Day, I ask each and every one of us to renew our collective commitment and take concrete actions to improve the situation. Ensuring global water security is the fundamental to achieving 2030 Agenda.
时值“世界粮食日”，让我们再次庄严承诺，采取切实行动，改善水资源形势。确保全球水安全是实现联合国《2030年议程》的根基所在。
Together, we can drive water action by transforming our agrifood systems through the Four Betters: better production, better nutrition, a better environment and a better life, leaving no one behind.
唯有和衷共济、精诚团结，我们才能推进农业粮食体系转型，推动落实水资源保护行动，实现更好生产、更好营养、更好环境和更好生活，不让任何人掉队。
