BEIJING, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping is on a three-nation visit in the Middle East. The visit, the first by a top Chinese leader to the region in more than five years, is highly expected to provide fresh impetus to China-Arab cooperation. Here are some of the highlights of Xi's previous remarks regarding China-Arab cooperation.

"China and the Arab countries are trusted friends and they are also good partners marching together on the road of common development."--Xi said in a congratulatory message to a recent China-Arab Expo held in China's western city of Yinchuan, Ningxia.

"The next ten years is a crucial period for development for both China and the Arab countries. To accomplish the mission of national rejuvernation, we need to tap into the Silk Road Spirit, promote exchanges and learn from each other, respect each others' choice of development paths, stick to win-win cooperation and advocate dialogue and peace."-- Xi made the remarks while addressing the 6th China-Arab Ministerial level Meeting on June5, 2014.
